More Than Words / by Alexander Lyadov

"I enjoy your texts as much as your images. Where do you find them all the time?" a reader asked me. "You really need to share the secret of where you find these pics," another one wrote. Hearing this warms my heart because the illustrations I discover for articles often exhilarate me too. But there's this nagging thought that no one else cares about this except me. Turns out, that's not true; readers do notice and appreciate it, they just don't often share their thoughts.

An author always strives to convey more than mere words can. That's because the implied meaning goes beyond any form. Engraving, drawing, or a photograph help reveal another facet of meaning. If it were up to me, I'd also incorporate sound, touch, and scent into each post. A talented musician can play a complex piece on a single violin. But imagine the difference when a symphony orchestra joins in.

Moreover, some words lose their impact due to frequent use, and their meaning gets altered by personal history or societal context. Art communicates directly with a viewer's soul, bypassing the biases of the mind. If your goal is to be understood in your attempt to see things as they are, you can't do without the language of diverse symbols, images, and metaphors.

As for the question of where and how I find these visual treasures, I'll gladly reveal my secrets in new articles. Just reach out to me about why it matters to you and sparks your interest.

Sincerely yours,

-Alexander
